I do love The Magnetic Fields...69 Love Songs brags some of the catchiest and funniest synth-pop nuggets we'll ever know (especially Volume One). Also, for some reason, David Sedaris and Stephin Merritt occupy the same plot of real estate in my mind. But that's beside the point. This song is a nod to Merritt's droll undertones and melodic style...and, obviously, a celebration of the fabulously mundane.
